Fighter Spotlight: Danny Garavito

Fighter Spotlight: Danny Garavito

Danny has been on Evolution’s Fight team for two years. After training at our facility for 3 years he decided to take it more seriously and start competing. And the hard work paid off.

On June 25, 2016, Danny Garavito won his second amateur belt at Combat nights 61. Danny won his 1st championship belt in October of 2015 at the 170 pound weight class moving his MMA record to 4-0. As most of you may or may not know, in Miami, and all of Florida, a MMA fighter must have 5 amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fights before turning pro . Danny was anxious to get his last fight in but was having trouble finding someone to take the fight. He is a well-rounded fighter. Danny is  proficient in all aspects of the game. He trains in boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and jiu-jitsu. After a few fighters backed out, he took a fight at the next weight class up in the 185 lb division against one of American top teams up and coming prospects at Combat Night 61 on June 25th 2016. Danny pulled off a decision win by dominated the fight with superior striking, wrestling, and ground and pound.

We are very proud of all the hard work this kid has put into his training and we know he will go far in the sport of MMA. Danny will be taking the fall off to focus on school but looks to make his professional MMA mixed martial arts debut in Miami after this semester. We wish him the best of luck.
